Let’s face it.. People are not opening up the yellow pages as much these days to look for a business or service, because they are searching on Google, Bing or Yahoo.
You may say that you get most of your business through the yellow pages and that’s fine, but think of all the business you are missing out on, because people are now searching on the internet for what they want.
Let me paint a picture for you…
Joe buyer is sitting on his computer checking his email
and surfing the internet.
He remembers he needs to get his tooth fixed and is looking for a new dentist. Also his hot water system needs to be looked at.
What does Joe do?
1. He types in Google search – “Dentists in Preston”
He finds a dentist around the corner from him and rings to make an appointment.
2. He types into Google – “Plumbers in Preston”
He finds a good plumber and rings to arrange a time.
This is targeted advertising at its best.
Did he use the yellow pages?
No!
Now the Yellow Pages are an essential part of your advertising budget, but advertising on Google and Yahoo gets your business in front of so many more people.
At the moment you are just letting these customers walk on by and your competitors are getting the customers.
You can even set up an email campaign so when customers come to your website they fill in their email address for you to call them back or even get on your mailing list for special future offers and repeat business.
